6 month car lease

March 19th, 2010 Nikki Elizabeth No comments

Looking for a 6 month car lease?

It is sort of a grey area. Where do people go when they are looking for a short term car lease?  What is considered short term? Some people consider short as 1 month but for the sake of this blog we are saying that short term lease is a 6 month car lease.  If you really want to find a 6 month car lease you need not be selective as certain lease companies do not allow lease transfers when there is less that 1 year left in a lease so you can forget getting a 6 month car lease with them.  Although the majority allow lease transfers that are as short as 5 or 6 months remaining.

Take it from us, we understand this market because we have transferred thousands of 6 month car leases.  But let’s say for fun you went on our website and didn’t find the right 6 month car lease for you, what do you do?  Well you need to step it up and go to various websites to find your target lease takeover offer.  Craigslist, kijiji, backpage are great free classified websites to start your search.  The only thing is you have to be very careful on those websites as their exists lots of fraud.  If you still can’t find a 6 month car lease, contact us directly at support@carleasedepot.com and we will do some of the heavy lifting for you.  Make sure in your email that you mention the make/model/year that you are looking for.

Assume my car lease

March 19th, 2010 Nikki Elizabeth No comments

What to do when you see an “Assume my car lease” ad?

We see it all the time on craigslist.org and other free classified websites.  “Assume my car lease” is probably one of the most popular keyword titles for ads when someone is stuck in a car lease.  It is enough? Probably not.  In order for someone to really take action when reading an ad titled assume my car lease your car has to be a great deal.  Many people who are unfamiliar to the lease swap process often ask “why would anyone want to assume my car lease?”.  There is without a doubt some nurturing which needs to occur before any lease transfer talks can begin.  First you need to be able to explain the benefits of taking over a lease. Here are a few.

  1. Short term commitment - Are you a travelling business woman? Well how ideal would it be to go to a dealership and say “yup I’ll take that new bmw 328i lease for 6 months”?  It doesn’t happen. The fact of the matter is that a short term lease is a deal in itself.  Most people don’t even know where they will be in a year from now.  Look at the recent recession and car companies taking nose dives, I won’t say anymore about that as I want to keep this blog post somewhat on a positive note.
  2. Get a lease takeover Deal - People offer you money for taking over their lease. Why? Well they are stuck in a car lease and need to get out.  You are their saviour. You are also in a position of power to negotiate a deal.  Ask them for a fair cash incentive.  We have seen cash incentives well over $10,000 USD to take over a single lease.  Yes it was for a corvette lease, but still 10k is a pretty sweet deal.
  3. Get a monthly rate which is no longer available.  Imagine you could go back in time.  There were some great cheap lease deals a year ago.  Imagine if you go to the dealer and they want $645 for a Subaru outback lease but that same lease could be $150 less from someone who is posting a “Assume my car lease” ad.
  4. No Down Payment. You takeover someone’s lease, normally you benefit from not having to put a down payment for the car.  Quite often people will even give you their security deposit which you can redeem after the lease has expired and you have returned the car.
  5. Make someone happy.

This was just me rambling on about how great it is to reply to people who post a “assume my car lease” ad. Don’t take my word for it.  Go reply to some ads now and start wheeling and dealing…or vice versa.

Learning to Drive Manual Cars

July 13th, 2009 Nikki Elizabeth 5 comments

Are you interested in leasing a manual car but worried because you don’t know how to drive one?

Watch this friendly video tutorial!

Learning to drive manual cars can be easy!

Read about gear selection and view illustrations of it if you’re still feeling hesitant after watching the video.

Manual transmission is also known as straight shift, stick shift, standard shift, and sometimes 5-speed. Torque transfer from the engine to transmission is regulated by a driver-operated clutch, and gears are operated with a gear shift. Gear shifts for cars are controlled with the hand, and gear shifts for other vehicles, such as motorcycles, are controlled with the foot.

History of the Lamborghini: Photographs & Information

July 8th, 2009 Nikki Elizabeth No comments

Ferruccio Lamborghini (April 28, 1916 – February 20, 1993) is the founder of the Lamborghini car company. He owned a successful manufacturing business during World War II that provided him with the means to purchase several sports cars, including a Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar E-Type, Maserati 3500GT, and a Ferrari 250 GT. He became a Ferrari enthusiast, and, after owning three 250 GT’s, he began to notice a common issue with the clutch of these models. He complained directly to the owner of the company, who took offense to his comments and told him that “the problem is not with the car, but rather, the driver”. Lamborghini was insulted by his remark and took it upon himself to form a car that would rival the Ferrari, which became the Lamborghini.

Affordable Car Leases

July 8th, 2009 Nikki Elizabeth 2 comments

If you’re trying to save money to buy a new car - the car that you’ve always wanted - but you can’t purchase it yet, you have other options! You can find an affordable car lease for the next 2 - 3 years that will allow you to save money and eventually get the car you want. Leasing a car is like “test driving” it; you’ll get a chance to learn more about the car without purchasing it and you may decide that you don’t want the car after all. No problem! You can just return it at the end of the lease and choose a different car.

Luxury Car Leases

July 7th, 2009 Nikki Elizabeth No comments

Luxury cars have high, lease-end residual values because of their MSRP’s, or manufacturer’s suggested retail prices. This makes them perfect for car lease agreements! In fact, luxury cars are often leased more than automobiles of any other category, including sports cars. Some of the luxury car makers available on Car Lease Depot include BMW’s, Mercedes, Porches, and Rolls-Royces. To find a luxury car lease on Car Lease Depot, simply search for luxury cars within your area.
